What is difference between 20MnCr5 and SS304?

20MnCr5 is an alloy steel, carburized steel, high strength and toughness, good hardenability. The resulting performance after heat treatment is better than 20Cr. Quenching small deformation, good low temperature toughness, machinability better; but the welding performance is low. Generally used in the carburizing quenching or quenching. For the manufacture and re-load of large parts of quenched and tempered parts and small cross-section carburized parts, but also for the manufacture of medium-load, the impact of smaller small parts, instead of 20CrNi use, such as gears, shafts, spindles, , Worm, governor sleeve and so on.

● use:

Manufacture of shafts and connecting rods under high-speed and high-bending load operating conditions, gearwheel mercury without strong impact load, water mercury-mercury rotor, clutches, bolts for pressure vessel cover plates, and the like.

304 stainless steel is a common material in stainless steel with a density of 7.93 g / cm3, also called 18/8 stainless steel in the industry. High temperature of 800 degrees, with good processing performance, high toughness characteristics, widely used in industrial and furniture decoration industry and food medical industry.

The common marking methods on the market are 06Cr19Ni10 and SUS304, among which 06Cr19Ni10 generally means GB standard production, 304 generally means ASTM standard production, and SUS 304 means JIS standard production.

304 is a versatile stainless steel that is widely used to make equipment and parts that require good overall performance (corrosion and formability). In order to maintain the inherent corrosion resistance of stainless steel, steel must contain more than 18% chromium, nickel content of 8% or more. 304 stainless steel is a grade of stainless steel produced according to the American ASTM standard.
